The Duckfoot Pistol,Called the duckfoot pistol because it looks like a ducks foot (duh), this kind of pistol was basically a type of handheld flintlock volley gun popular in the 18th century. A very strange weapon, they could have anywhere from three to eight or more barrels that all angle off in different directions. The duckfoot was especially popular among sailors and sea captains. In close quarters, the duckfoot was great for boarding actions in tight spaces against masses of enemy sailors and marines. They were also said to be popular with captains and officers in order to fend off a mutiny. However, regardless of its looks and theoretical application, the duckfoot really wasn’t that practical. Like the Nock Volley Gun, the duckfoot has incredible recoil, they were slow to load, and it is hard to actually cover a group of enemies with mutiple barrels pointing in different directions. -- source link
