penname-artist: And he is done! Behold! The USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) redesign! He looks miles better than his predecessor we don’t talk about…Art Notes:-The pose itself was thanks to an amazing reference drawing of the Kitty Hawk by an unknown artist, so huge credit to whoever did create that beautiful piece!-I basically did the same to KH that I did to the Flysenhower when I did my attempt of him, so I have the blocky colors breaking up the shape of the flight deck. I also extended that to the rest of his features as well (the body itself, the runway markers, etc)-Unlike the Flysenhower, I used a totally different thematic lighting for this, to give the illusion that KH is perhaps out on the foggy sea. It would be more ominous without his thousand watt smile.-His hat was really the only piece of his real WoC design that I moved over, just to ensure we all know this is that guy. Funny enough, when side by side, his hat is bigger than the Flysenhower’s. He gets bragging rights.-His eyes are like a coppery brownish hue? I think somebody said that they might be like green, but mostly for the sake of giving him a tad more difference than the Flysenhower, his eyes were made darker.A Couple of Headcanons as well:-Just like Flysenhower in my story “The Decision”, Kitty Hawk was originally a pittie later turned ship, previously gone under the name William (that is, William Bringle, the name of the irl captain of the Kitty Hawk) before his decision.-KH is pretty up there in age, being numbered 63 (comparitively, Flysenhower is #81, weird because Eisenhower was #69 (har har) so I guess our boi is substantially younger/newer?? I don’t really know).Soooo yeah! Kitty Hawk! The Less Shitty Kitty! Y’all enjoy, I actually had a lot of fun making this, doing the linework is so theraputic, just making shapes. Much fun to be had.
