The youngest and arguably most beautiful planet, this blue gem is the pride of the Solar System. With its oceans accounting for over 70% of its surface, Earth, unlike many of its neighbors, can support life without artificial or magical help. From the heat of the tropics to the freezing polar ice caps, the dynamics of the Earth lay on a wide scale. Although the planet only has one continent, it is divided into five provinces, each with its own unique climate, economy, and culture.Elysium: In the first province lies the home of Elysion, the seat of the Golden Kingdom, Elysium. While the people are humble and friendly, the city is known more for its architecture and humble extravagance. The home of the red rose gardens, Elysium also houses the Earth’s royal family. While the city is crowded and always bustling with activity, just outside the city limits lay sprawling fields and rolling hills, and it is not uncommon to see a herd of wild horses in the distance. Peaceful and relaxing, Elysium is the heart of Earth.Dilmun: At the eastern edge of the Great Southern Desert of the second province lies Dilmun, renowned for its supply of precious gems, expansive university, and the ruins underneath the city. The original home of The First Men, the lower city and the catacombs extending beyond still house the remnants of the Earthlings’ ancestors, along with their ancient knowledge. Because of this proximity to the original holders of Earth, Eridu University was founded to study Earth’s predecessors and their abilities, including the College of Sar to study their unique magical abilities.Aaru: In the third province, found nestled in a valley between the Kunlun Mountains, lies Aaru. Known for its fertile lands and wholesome livestock, the city is known for its agricultural exports. No buildings exceed two stories, aside from the noble hall at the edge of the city, and Aaru is regarded as the most peaceful of all of Earth’s cities. As the city relies on the harvest, many holidays are concerned with the astronomical readings, which makes Aaru the home to Earth’s oracles as well.Gimle: Hidden away in the northern Edda Forest of the fourth province lies Gimle. Surrounded on all sides by the forest, the city experiences the harshest winters and the loveliest summers. Steeped in superstition and secluded from the rest of the provinces by the Kunlun Mountains to the south, Gimle is self-sustained as it is cut off from the rest of the continent. Because of this, the city has its own mobile military force to fend off the wild beasts of the Edda Forest, which have been plentiful for the past decade. It is unsafe to wander the forests alone at night, making Gimle the only refuge for miles beyond the mountains.Thessalonica: Off the eastern coast in the Panthalassa Ocean lies the only sizeably known island chain and the fifth province of Earth. Known for its spring-like climate year round, these tropical islands are the most beautiful and exotic location on Earth. Famous for its fashion, spices, poetry, and unique outlook on life, Thessalonica remains quaint and relaxed. While none of the islands are very big, Thessalonica remains the largest of the islands and the capitol of the province. It is the island with the whitest beaches and the clearest waters, and many of the province’s art festivals are held here. -- source link
