Hello @ambitchion! Well, first off, what WestLaw reps do is create and give you a search term that could work. As you get better at legal research you’ll start to create your own terms with connectors and find cases before they do. For example, if I wanted shareholder or director’s fiduciary duties in a closely held corporation, I would try something like this:Adv: ((shareholder director) /10 (fiduciary +2 dut!)) /p (“closely held corporation”)That would be either “shareholder” or “director” within ten words of “fiduciary” followed two or less word spaces by a word that starts with dut (I’m going for both duty and duties, and allowing for something like “fiduciary and ______ duties”), all of it being in the same paragraph as the exact phrase “closely held corporation.” I just created that on my own right now, but a WestLaw rep will do that work for you of creating the search term and will sometimes open a few cases to peer inside, but mostly that’s up to you and there’s obviously no guarantee of finding something on point. Scroll down to the very bottom of the WestLawNext page and you’ll see in tiny letters “Live Chat.” You can also call them on the phone. Good luck! -- source link
