Woman bound in duct tape escapes robberyA woman bound and gagged with duct tape narrowly escaped from her office after two men broke in during an apparent robbery, according to police. The victim, 20, told authorities that the men wore bandannas over their faces but that she may have recognized one of their voices.“Someone she distantly knew,” an officer said. “She didn’t know who it was. She just thought she might recognize the voice.”Kent County detectives said they don’t believe the crime was random, though they didn’t know exactly why the busy office on Alma Street was targeted. The woman told police the men tied her up and told her they had a gun, but that she was able to free herself. Police say they ransacked the home.“She had duct tape around her wrists and around her neck, and she was able to pull the duct tape away from her face, but she couldn’t get it off,” an officer said. -- source link
