eremobates:Have some bat skulls! I filled a small sketchbook with mostly bat and shrew skulls, all of them drawn with the specimen magnified under a stereo microscope at a local museum. The top one is a Hoary bat, middle is an Antillean ghost faced bat (the jaws do open that far!) and the bottom is a Western pipistrelle, the smallest bat in the US. The actual size of the skull is very tiny, about a centimeter or so long. The shrew skulls, at least most of them, were equally tiny. Seeing these skulls under a microscope and drawing them was something I really enjoyed and I hope to be able to do something like this again sometime. -- source link
