Gustloff pistol prototype,Developed before World War II, this developement of pistol was at the behest of Fritz Sauckle. Sauckle himself founded the Gustloff Werke in order to manufacture arms for the German war machine. The prototype created used design features from both the Walther PPK and the Sauer 38H. Many different prototypes were made using different materials and different calibers. One was sent to both Adolf Hitler and Henreich Himmler. The design was intended to replace the Walther PPK but it never went beyond the experiemental stage.Fritz Sauckle continued to operate Gustloff Werke during the war, using slave labor. He became notorious for working his laborers to death. He was executed for crimes against humanity in 1947. -- source link
