A double urn of a married Roman couple (1st century CE)Archaeological museum of Munster universityMy German is still rusty, but in any case this is a urn of Arruntia Philusa and Sextus Tidius Primigenius. Arruntia - a former slave - died first and her husband commissioned this double urn. In inscription Arruntia is described as a good wife (inscription left). When Sextus died his ashes were also put into this urn. Their son Clemens wrote the obituary where he calls Tidius an optimal father (inscription right). https://westfalen.museum-digital.de/index.php?t=objekt&oges=2380&cachesLoaded=trueSource:Copyright Notice © Archäologisches Museum der WWU Münster ; Licence: CC BY-NC-SA (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) -- source link
