Another pic of temple of Mithra. San Clemente is actually one of my favourite churches in Rome. There are three temples in the same site. The current church, a medieval one below it and finally a mithraic temple. The last one is a bit creepy place since some of the corridors / rooms are rather dim and one can hear the sound of flowing water. In other words there is a some sort underground creek / river below the building.Ok, I have to admit that I visited the temple several years ago, so conditions may have changed. There are also other mithraic temples that can be visited in Rome. One is located next to Largo Argentina (Crypta Balbi) and the other one can be found on Aventine Hill (House/church of Prisca) -- source link
