At just shy of 10 inches this is my longest piece yet, which is cool, but I can’t fully take pride in it for one reason and that reason is… the dreaded Curtain Effect. you can see it very clearly in the last photo - that distinct curve warping the piece. bad! so bad! but what can you do? (you can not pull so hard on the footside passives, yes thank you hindsight.) Well, at least we’ve all learned an important lesson about tension. (design notes: pattern is Joy from A Visual Introduction to Bucks Point Lace by Geraldine Stott. base thread is Kimono Silk from Superior Threads in white. gimp is KNK silk in white. I used .5mm pins in the point ground and .8mm pins for the picots and honeycomb. 10 twists around the picots - might not be optimal.)Textil art is amazing!
