CSX Engines Crossing Catoctin Creek Bridge, Frederick County, Maryland, 2017.One of the oldest railroad bridges still in use in the US. It is parallel and similar to the aqueduct carrying the C&O canal across the creek. Indeed, the railroad, built slightly later, was a (the?) major reason the canal was never extended beyond Cumberland and across the mountains into the Ohio drainage, the original intention.   -- source link
