In part 4 of my fan fiction “X-Men Spiders”, Miles Morales can’t seem to align his luck with randomly crossing paths with these strange new spider people that have been spotted around New York lately. Between his own near encounter a week ago and local hearsay from other eyewitnesses, he’s hit a bit of a wall for how to acquire more information about these visitors. Fate is not without a sense of humor of course, as Miles stumbles across a random amateur YouTube video featuring a brief interview with one of the spider folks. Upon clicking the video, an attractive woman can be seen vlogging in Times Square before being interrupted by a man offscreen with a Creole accent. The woman is startled at first, but the man quickly reassures her that she has nothing to fear, politely introducing himself as Remy LeBeau. With the camera now focused on the man, Miles gets he first look at one of these interdimensional spider-men. While the man’s look and feel seem familiar, Morales notices an “X-Men” insignia imprinted on his gear. Miles begins to postulate the possibility that each of these new visitors not only possess spider powers, but could be alternate reality versions of the legendary mutant hero team, The X-Men. Miles manages to catch the end of the video just as the man bids the woman farewell, and swings away with neon webbing. Miles needed answers, and he had an idea of where to start. More to come.
