Part 2 of my Fanfiction “Storm: Wanderer”. Ororo’s hand begins to reach outward for the small figurine of the unknown girl, but Ainet suddenly pulls it back. She pauses before gently placing her delicate hand inside her adopted daughters’. She starts by explaining that in order to understand the present, one must first understand where they come from. Ainet continues by stating that this world defines Ororo simply as a “mutant”, and that this classification along with her genetic orientation explains her abilities to control aspects of the weather. Ainet scoffs to herself before proclaiming that defining her abilities so generically is like saying electricity powers a light bulb. While the simplified explanation is technically true, it falls hopelessly short of determining the reasons of how and why it is true. Ainet squeezes Storm’s hand and pulls her close while looking her squarely in her eyes before stating that Ororo is a unique and powerful magician, and has been using magic all along. Storm’s face is riddled with confusion as she starts her protest by explaining to Ainet that she has fought many battles alongside powerful magicians. How their powers are uniquely different from hers, mystical and mysterious even in comparison. How she has never uttered a spell before using her powers. Ainet smiles joyfully before interrupting Ororo to mention that these facts are only observations of her uniqueness as a magic wielder. She pulls Ororo to the edge of the mountain peak and slowly sweeps her hand across the sky. Four beautiful orbs of light varied in color, begin to spin in front of them as Ainet begins her explanation: Listen carefully my dear Ororo, there are at least four defined forms of Magic. The first is “Ego-Centric” magic. This form draws its power from tapping into one’s own spiritual energies. At first glance, this type of magic appears like psychic or cerebral in nature, but it is indeed spiritual. Practitioners of this magic command astral projections, hypnosis, dominion of one’s mind, telepathy and unspoken communication. The second is “Eco-Centric” magic.
