botanical headcanons // accepting @chronicparagon asked:Willow willow : how does your muse handle sadness & depression ?Uh, not very well. Jack is the type that when he starts feeling sad and/or depressed he starts to self-isolate and avoid human contact. This is more of a deep rooted feeling that Jack is undeserving of contact, that he wasn’t built for it - mostly because of how he was ‘raised’ and ‘trained’ to feel. Which is why Caleb is often the one to try and force him out of these situations and try and get him to crack ever so often to open up. Once Jack starts closing up, avoiding things, and if he isn’t caught in time - it’ll take ages for him to open up again. It’s like a flytrap. Once it starts closing, it is going to take awhile before it opens again. Jack is very emotionally vulnerable, almost to the point to where he is labeled as a ‘sensitive’ individual. But if you try and point this out, you might get hurt over it. He doesn’t want to be seen that way, only because he thinks its a weakness and if someone was to point it out - it would be a dangerous exposition. Depression is something predominant in Jack. He deals with it on a constant basis. The moment he starts closing off, is when it is hitting him the hardest. He just doesn’t have the best coping skills to start healing from it all. -- source link
