photosworthseeing: Blog Recommendation Of The MonthMay 2022 - Interview@lastlightsnet1. When and how did you start to become interested in photography?About 15 years ago, I was working as a graphic designer and edited a lot of images for advertisements, etc. Then one day, we did a product shoot, and the studio manager introduced a DSLR to me, which prompted me to learn how to use it, and eventually I bought my own (Nikon D60).2. Is there something you learned during your photographic journey that you would have loved to know when you were just starting out?Nothing really! If I had known everything from the day one, my photographic journey wouldn’t have been this fun.3. If you’d have to describe yourself as a photographer in one sentence, what would that sentence be?“Singapore-based photography enthusiast shooting cityscapes with long exposure at blue hour”. This is the tagline I typically use for my profile. 4. Your blog consists to a large degree of longtime exposure photographs. What is it that draws you towards longtime exposure? The beauty of blue hour (twilight and dusk) and the smoothed-out water. I just love this time of the day so much. Very relaxing and beautiful!5. What is the big challenge in longtime exposure for you? Those uncontrollables like weather, quality of light, calmness of water (for better reflections), etc. It’s hard to get conditions to be exactly how I like it, but when I get all the boxes ticked off, I have a good chance of capturing a photo that I’ll be delighted with. Besides, it’s all about judging when to start the exposure and for how long. As the blue hour sky gets darker and deeper very fast towards the end of dusk, starting the exposure a minute or two earlier or later affects the end result quite a bit.6. What inspires you?Might be a strange answer, but my website. Two biggest hobbies for me are photography and coding (web-developing), so I want to fill my house (website) with a lot of nice images! -- source link
