I’ll have a new story out at my bookstore in a few days, and I’m really excited about this one because it’s my first horror story- scroll to see the cover.•••Years ago I had an idea for a story about someone finding a message in a door, and, finally, this summer I got the chance to sit down and develop that idea into a story. Now all I have left to do is write a blurb, which is the hardest part of the writing process but absolutely necessary for marketing a book. I mean, you guys need to know what it’s about before you decide to read it. •••Ok, I’ll be honest, I’ve been a little stumped about how to shortly describe this story, so I just decided to jot down some ideas. Here’s the preliminary blurb, a work in progress:•••“The Willert House is a dream for Charli, an out-of-the-way, old farmhouse that’s in need of some fixing-up. But fixing-up reveals more than needed repairs. There’s a key to a door that leads nowhere, an intercom hooked to nothing, and life-sized dolls left behind in an amour. The Willert House is a lonely house that’s filled with eyes – photos under the bed, drawings on the wall…Charli needs to learn about the history of the Willert House. What did the Willerts bring with them when they came to the new world? What ancient thing lurks behind a locked door? Who is crying for help?SHE FOLLOWS.”•••Funny thing, the story is called “THE DOOR IN THE WALL” but I kind of like “SHE FOLLOWS” as a title, too, but I’ll stick with the original title. But if I were to make this into a movie, I’d call it ‘SHE FOLLOWS".•••Ok, that’s all I had to share today.
