“So cold, alone Could you be my blanket? (Surround my bones) When my heart feels naked No strength, too weak I could use some saving And you’re love’s so strong” - ‘Kindly Calm me down’ by Meghan Trainor. I heard this song today for the first time and I fell instantly in love, and imagined it with my novel protagonist and her love interest, and therefore had to draw this little sketch on the plane home today. As you may have understood, my novel is not a romance, and my Saga is a strong, capable woman, but does that mean she doesn’t require love in her life? I feel these days all I read is how woman are better off without men in their lives, but I think we should strive to be strong and independent, as well as hopeful of love.
