The light blue single of yarn is laid over a penny for scale, showing it is fine. The bobbin is made of white plastic, and shows layer lines from being 3d printed. End image description.]After like a year and a half of not touching my spinning wheel, I’m back at it. Yes, that’s a 3d printed bobbin. Yes, I have a 3d printer now.Yes, I am going a bit mad with the power of creation! …This legit blew my mind. Do you (people in general, not @pepperdoken) have any idea how many old spinning wheels there are even just within my circle of aquaintances that can’t be used because they don’t have the right size bobbins anymore? I’m guessing enough that it’s important to remind people that a bunch of libraries have 3D printing capabilities now and any that don’t will know who locally does, and that there’s whole websites dedicated to freely reproducible 3D printing patterns (idk about bobbins specifically but it is 100% worth checking) -- source link
