Here is my first new piece since my accident six months ago. “ No Monster Lines” is a very personal entry - the moment in which Esmeralda tells Quasimodo she sees him for who he is in his heart. It took me 10 times longer to draw this digitally then I would have expected, and I had to hold the stylus in a very awkward position and use a pillow to keep my arm from shaking, but I did it! Losing the ability to use my right hand has been an incredibly life altering experience and I am still working my way through a lot of the feelings. But I chose this moment to draw because sometimes I do feel damaged and worthless. I know I have so much to offer the world and I will continue to fight to maintain my artistic ability. I hope anyone seeing this piece will be reminded that whatever trials, struggles with disabilities you may have-you are an important and valuable person with something to offer the world.
