In other words, when in the past was labor paid for it’s full share for the effort involved in producing all of this wealth that’s traded on Wall Street? I suppose we could measure it now. The entire working class could stay home, and choose to not pay any bills. We could then see how much profit these bosses, banks, and landlords are able to drum up. That could be bosses and landlords baseline share of the profit or rent they can charge, or what their production is worth without us. Then we’ll all go back to work and pay bills, and go on as normal. The delta between what the owners could produce on their own, and what they could produce with their employees, will become labor’s share of the profits and what they should be paid in rent at the starting point. Then, as productivity increases, both capitalist and worker can talk about who gets a raise. -- source link
