intuitive-revelations:Just reading through The Thirteenth Doctor: The Many Lives of Doctor Who, which I got from that recent Humble bundle, and huh……The Timeless Children really gives the Fifth Doctor’s story a whole new perspective. For context: Ophiuchus is a renown healer (’head of their order’) gone-renegade, who has been conducting research into regeneration, specifically into breaking the twelve regeneration limit. Despite this, his intentions apparently really are noble. He’s being hunted by the High Council for ‘terrible crimes’, possibly fabricated, with the Chancellery Guard ordered to kill him on sight. He’s now dying, unable to regenerate by himself. It’s unclear whether it’s just inhibited or if he’s in his thirteenth incarnation.“Only you can save me. I need another…[engh]... Time Lord to give me a little push.”Between the High Council’s extreme reaction and his specific need for the Doctor’s help, it almost sounds like Ophiuchus might have found out about something he shouldn’t have, doesn’t it?Nice catch. I love seeing how the Timeless Child reshapes events. Granted this event was one that would have been made with the revelation in mind. -- source link
