centerist-druid-of-vermont:vaporwavevocap:thedailyrepublic:NO; THAT’S A COMPLETE LIE. BUT, LET’S TALK ABOUT TAXES…If you make 50K a year, contribute a couple thousand to your 401k, and take the standard deduction, your taxable income is 36K +/- leaving you with a 4K +/- tax bill. But that’s not the whole story. Thanks to deductions and credits, fully 59.9% of taxpayers making 50K don’t pay any federal income tax. So, who does pay the FIVE TRILLION dollars it takes to run the federal government? The 74% of the country that makes 90K plus account for 90% of all federal income tax paid. What upsets me is wasteful government spending; hearing cries for socialism from the perpetually ignorant and listening to those who contribute nothing yet want everything handed to them. Even if it was true both the $36 and the $4000 are Socialist theft.Thank you for understanding that. I’d be happier to pay that if it was the reverse because at least then it’s going towards something decent. But because a majority is going towards, what we call, defense I’m less okay with paying taxes. If we were only stationed in Japan, who we banned from having a military as a result of ww2, or South Korea, who is our ally and still at war, then yeah. I’d have no issues whatsoever. But we’ve been at war since I was born. And we keep creating new enemies. The taliban were made by us supporting them against the Soviets. Al Queada came from the Taliban. ISIL came from AQ, and I’m willing to put money on there being a new organization within 5 years. We shouldn’t be in Japan, South Korea, or any other country. In fact, we are not, they are, the government is.America’s government is one of the largest state sponsors and committers of terrorism. -- source link
