Love and Strength- A Portrait of Tyrone and Felicia Sanders, 18x24, oil on linen over panel I was honored to be commissioned to paint the survivors of the Charleston AME Church shooting from 2015. This was one of four paintings I did for the project. I’m grateful that they were willing to share their stories with me and allowed me the privilege of paintng them. You may remember The Emanuel Nine Project, where I and eight other artists painted the nine victims of the shooting and gifted the paintings to the families. My collector wanted the survivors, who are still living with the aftermath, to be remembered too.
