Completed in 1970 just a few months after the better known and equally offbeat Tower of the Sun 20 miles to the north, the PL Peace Tower (also known as the Great Peace Prayer Tower) stands at the headquarters of the Church of Perfect Liberty, a little-known religious movement founded in 1924. According to the church, the structure exists as a monument to all war victims globally. At 180 metres, the PL Peace Tower is more than twice the height of the Tower of the Sun.
