stardust-rust:The sheer nerve, ladies and gentlemen and everyone.http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GetBackInTheClosethttp://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ButNotTooGayhttp://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MaleGazeHow do we get it into people’s heads that despite Margot’s ‘valid’ motives for having sex with Will (reproductive coercion is not okay, kids) having a lesbian initiate sex with a man is still pandering to the MALE GAZE and it’s disgusting and it’s lesbian erasure.(Disclaimer: I am fully aware that real-life self-identified lesbians DO have sex with men of their own and enthusiatic volition with consent from both parties, but I’m talking about television, and the fact that a man, despite being a gay man, wrote this scene.)The over-saturated cliche that for the ‘right reasons’ and the ‘right dick’ a lesbian will have sex with a man is just… I don’t have the fucking words for this bullshittery. THE REINFORCEMENT OF THIS CLICHE IS THE REASON WE HAVE CORRECTIVE RAPE.The sick and twisted idea that a man only has to rape a lesbian and impregnate her, that way she will ‘turn’ straight and start ‘thinking right’ once she has a bun in the oven amirite? Except this time, it’s a lesbian WILLINGLY taking a dick for the right cause! Hooray! Nevermind that we’ll most likely NEVER see a lesbian sex scene on TV, that Margot will probably NOT have a girlfriend in this timeline because no way can we have MORE (read: as of this episode, Alana is the only female alive and not dying (as Bella/Phyllis is)) ladies! That would be crazy! So yes, the only time lesbian Margot has sex on TV, it will be with a man. How is that NOT homophobic (and FYI Bryan, homophobia extends to lesbians too, NOT just male homosexuals), how is that NOT lesbian erasure, how is that NOT sexist. And as for Jimmy Price:http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HaveIMentionedIAmGay -- source link
