teambadchoices:The Red Book (Love)“You have absorb’d me…You have ravish’d me away by a Power I cannot resist.” –The last words of Olev OgrinLanguage: Ancient Orcish, trans. unknownLength: 1,059 pages. The Red Book is the first in the Color Series and the first to have been written down. Hana, Heiress of the Azarola tribe, is in constant combat with but secretly in love with Olev, the son of a warring ogre tribe, who secretly loves her in return. The war between them is long and hard, and they make love numerous times throughout the war in different circumstances. Their final battle lasts over a period of months. Before the winner can be declared a giant lizard threatens to swallow Westerland, and Hana and Olev work together to defeat it. After the lizard is killed, Hana attempts to destroy Olev forever by devouring his heart, which would give her ownership of his tribes’ land. He tries to escape, and she professes her love to him in a ballad, which is so moving that it convinces him to stay and be eaten. Her love poem, though unconventional to many eyes, is considered the triumph of Orcish literature.***Image from http://edgeplay.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/classic_red_book_cover_by_semireal_stock.jpg, Quote From: John Keats, Letters to Fanny Brawne, 1819 -- source link
