caramelcheese: professorpotato: so.. Shiro’s connection to the others wasn’t strong enough to talk to them but his connection to Keith was I’ll take this one step further. The others had to use their bayards to tap into the energy binding them to Voltron. Even with all that energy combined, even with Allura, Lance, Hunk and Pidge calling for Shiro together, Shiro barely managed to establish contact with them. He’s transparent and kept in the shadows, his voice comes from far away. He tries to tell Lance what’s going on but his connection gets severed very quickly. So everyone else in the team combined wasn’t enough to summon Shiro to them. Not even while connected to the Lions’ quintessence. But Keith? By sheer force of his own will, Keith stands with Shiro. Not only can they talk freely, they can touch. And Shiro’s spirit is able to travel to Keith and touch him even when Keith is not in the astral plane, as shown by this shot.
