There are already hundreds of magazines, movie posters, television shows, ect that depict muscular, handsome, fit, attractive, shirtless men that women swoon for. In fact, those magazines in the gif are real and can easily be found in stores.2nd image- literally all of those little parodies are of shows with a fat and stupid male who lives with a smart and “above average” looking female. You can claim that the fact that these women aren’t the main characters in the show (though there are plenty of shows with female leads), or that the men don’t feel adequate comparing themselves to the leads when the leads are (in these cases VERY) attractive. What if a majority of comedies showed fat stupid women destroying the town, jeopardizing their marriage and overall making terrible decisions while the smart and attractive male was the voice of reason and usually had to fix the problems.Image 3- Women catcall men all the time. Women comment on guys looks constantly. I honestly don’t understand how people think women are these innocent pure beings. Have any of you spent 5 minutes on Tumblr? Didn’t you notice people swooning over Shirtless swimmers or making comments about the bulges in men’s pants? Ever see someone make a sexual comment on a guy’s selfie? Ever read text posts about a woman’s ideal guy and they often compare them to a celebrity or an anime character? But no. Only men make comments on the opposite gender’s appearance. Women are too pure for that.Image 4- Women already do that. At parties, just like men, women will search out a hot guy and try to get their attention. this includes laughing at their jokes even when they aren’t funny, giving them compliments that they might not deserve, ect. Additionally, women CONSTANTLY spout the “it’s hard to find a man that-” thing. “It’s hard to find a man that can cook.” “It’s hard to find a man that looks after himself.” “It’s hard to find a man that isn’t cheap on a date.” Like get over yourselves.Image 5- These presidents were voted in. If you wanted a female president so bad, maybe take advantage of the fact that your gender makes up a majority of the United states (and the world) and vote someone in simply for being female. I mean unless you voted for the guy because you thought he would do a better job than the women and you decided to be smart and look past their gender. Because you realize if you didn’t, we’d have a Sarah Palin as president right now. It wouldn’t matter that she contradicts herself constantly, doesn’t practice what she preaches, and seems out of it most of the time. She is a woman and should be president because of that, and we all know that a woman would automatically make a better president just for being a woman. No sexism there. Want to know what would really happen if men were women?*They would be considered innocent until proven guilty in our society instead of the other way around.* They would get shorter sentences or none at all for the same crime committed by a woman. * They would have reproductive rights.* There would actually be abuse shelters for them.*They would be seen as capable with children instead of bumbling idiots.* They wouldn’t feel obligated to work dangerous jobs that put their lives at risk to provide for their families.* Men could choose not to work altogether and society would not think less of them (or they would be sexist)* #Killallwomen would be one an incredibly popular hashtag on the internet and no one would find it sexist.*Their issues would be taken seriously instead of them being laughed at.THANKYOUyes this is good.cheshireinthemiddle, I applaud you.Don’t forget romance novels. Basically every romance novel is written by women for women with shirtless Adonises as the male character and no one bats an eye or finds that problematic.Dave Willis once claimed those dudes on romance novel covers were just what male executives thought women wanted. No evidence provided, of course.@siryouarebeingmocked The issue with that is novel artist draw the characters based on the details given about the character’s looks in the book. The author explains in detail what these men look like and the artist draws them based on that. There’s also the whole “market research” thing. -- source link
