Neal Slavin first photographed NYPL staff in the Rose Main Reading Room in 1974, and he returned 42 years later to recreate the image in 2016. He just delivered a print of the 2016 image to the Library.Intrigued by how people react when they pose together, Neal Slavin started taking group portraits in the 1970s. His resulting series When Two or More Are Gathered Together examines group behavior as it documents the common interests and shared traits that bring people together.This Throwback Thursday, we’re looking back at Neal Slavin’s photos of the Library.
