Repost @directher with @repostapp. ・・・ Thanks to all who celebrated black girls, women filmmakers, natural hairstyles + a good tennis shoe via this doll! People have been very kind and encouraging while embracing this. But the attention isn’t really about me. It’s about the image. Women of color want to see ourselves. And others want to see us too. While destructive rhetoric is flying around about people of color, people of a certain faith, people with disabilities, the transgender community and almost anyone outside of one particular gaze, some of us find beauty in each other. And while the opposition to that beauty fights to divide, we fight to stay strong and clear and healthy and together. We will win. xo -- source link
