Whenever I decide to post something online, I make sure that it is perfect from top to bottom. This includes lighting, color, concept, anatomy and all the other great stuff. I’ve always been a firm believer in “quality over quantity”, which is one of the reasons why I only post my best drawings and skip over the ones that I deem unworthy of an upload. But sometimes, planets and stars don’t align in our favour and we get bad days. This was not a good day for me. From the beginning, I was dissatisfied with the proportions of the face and the fact that I had to erase the sketch layer multiple times. I decided to use a brush pen for inking ,which is notorious for being a tough tool to master, and ended up smudging the ink in multiple places. When it came to watercolors, I was so impatient that whenever I would try to add a new layer, I would end up lifting off the previous one with my soaked water-brush. What’s worse, I didn’t even have the proper lighting for decent pictures and almost gave up on posting this as a whole. But then I realized that making mistakes and showing this to others is not a bad thing. Actually, it proves that you are not a robot and that, just like any other human being, you have ups and downs. I hope that this will encourage people to embrace their self-perceived failures as happy accidents and to learn from them. P.S: Sorry for the rant, I felt like it was necessary. -- source link
