myrroronthewall:if-you-see-a-stranger:FMA: A Chronicle of Useless BoyfriendsActually though, from a more analytical standpoint, I think this was one of the best parts of FMA for me. Yes, all of the male alchemists are extremely badass and shonen protagonists. But Winry is the engineer. Riza is the character who always protects what she cares about most. And Izumi is the scary and too intense teacher, considered a master of their field. But they are still woman. Izumi’s greatest desire in life is to be a housewife. Riza and Winry each form their style after meeting the other; Riza’s pierced ears inspire Winry to pierce her own and Winry’s long hair inspires Riza to grow her’s out. I truly think that Fullmetal Alchemist captured what true feminism is about. Ed and Roy are geniuses in their own right, and they are not complete pushovers. But the woman are each powerful in their own ways, ways that are different than the men who they stand next too. Source: @if-you-see-a-stranger -- source link
