annarose9091: stayskinnyandclassyforhim: I really wish I was a housewife in the 1950s, having been raised with the idea that marriage was a great ambition and a huge achievement, instead of just being a box to tick in a checklist today. I’d defer to my husband’s judgment, would have been courted properly, visited dance halls, museums and drive-in movie theatres. I could have wore pretty dresses everyday and talker to my friends about how many children we each hoped to have and what our dream house would be. Instead, today I get told that I shouldn’t have children before I’m 30, that I must have a successful career and be an independent woman and that I should never let a man define me. But what if I don’t want that? What if I want to fall hopelessly in love and dedicate my life to my man, home and children, would that be so wrong? Apparently it is, but I’m going to do my best to achieve my dream, even if most nowadays would call it pathetic and a waste of my intellect You got the right attitude, sweetie. :-) It’s so good to see other women realize their true purpose in life.
