From a former vet tech: these dogs are absolutely forced to be vicious.If they are not kept with an officer at home, they are caged at the police station for their entire life.They are abused and forced to become something they are not, to inflict fear and pain on marginalized people.Police dogs, after being forced through all that abuse, are also very dangerous, and their ‘cuteness’ in the eyes of the general public is used to cover up real police brutality. Animals are not weapons.On top of this, dogs that aren’t considered “mean enough” after going through some or most of the training (aka abuse) are often euthanized because they’re still dangerous. -- source link
