MONKEY TREEFROGPhoto Catalog:The monkey treefrog (Phyllomedusa bicolor) is used by the Matsés Indians of Peru for hunting rituals. Its secretions are burned into the skin of humans, which induces vomiting, passing out and then waking a few hours later from an hallucinogenic state feeling god-like and ready to hunt. The monkey treefrog climbs as if it is in a state of perpetual slow motion — slowly pulling its body by its hypnotically moving arms and fingers. The monkey treefrog pictured was observed and documented while on a Field Museum expedition in the Loreto region of the Amazon Rainforest in Peru. -- source link
