The PM and ministers might swap seats, but this UK Tory government has caused the deaths of over 130,000 people in the lact decade (re: austerity, social-care/security cuts etc), and sent millions into poverty. Deliberately. They’ve been condemned by the UN at least twice in extensive reports. (Also, their New Labour predecessors laid the ground work for all this, and are now trying to take back control of that party from the actual socialists) So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this very same government is taking a do nothing, power and profits first approach to a pandemic. And that they really don’t care if 100,000s die: in reality they probably welcome/intend a reduction in the social care and pensions bill, a reduction in social security payments, and NHS costs.
