Concordia, Goddess of Harmony. Roman gold aureus. The goddess is enthroned, thought by some scholars to reflect her cult statue in Rome. She holds symbols of her gifts to the universe: a caduceus, for peace, and a cornucopia, for prosperity. Concordia is the daughter of Venus and Mars. She bestows harmony and agreement in marriages, and among members of groups. Emperors of Rome often displayed her image on coins to celebrate congenial relationships, especially between the Emperor and his wife, between co-rulers, and between the Emperor and the Legions. Her Greek counterpart is Harmonia, daughter of Aphrodite and Ares. Today, Roman polytheists celebrate the Dies Natalis, or foundation day, of the Temple of Concordia in the Roman Forum. -- source link
