This photo reminds me of how my focus seems to change. When I started with BDSM activities in real life, I wanted to quite literally try everything. I felt like a kid in the candy store. All was new, all was exciting. My focus was on techniques, because that was what my fantasies were about. But after a while, the newness wore off a bit and I started to concentrate on other things. My subs mental state, for example. It might seem obvious and it should be common sense. But how often do we really watch someone else? How often do we really care? It’s like how you can walk mile after mile without really noticing what happens around you. And then, suddenly, you start really feeling your steps on ground, the wind blowing through your hair, the birds singing on the trees. And then you realize this was why you like to take walks in the first place. I think what I’m saying is this: BDSM is so much more exciting when you’re actively aware that, as a Dom, you’re mostly feeding off your subs emotions and the control you gain over her. Everything else is merely means to an end. -- source link
