Ficlet #221, for our 221st follower, without-a-wish.“You know,” John says, struggling through the door, “I’d say you look smashing in everything, but yellow really isn’t your colour.”Sherlock is sprawled on the couch dressed in nothing but a bee-striped Snuggy. It’s too short for him, and rather obvious that he’s not wearing anything at all underneath, but at least they’re not in Buckingham Palace, John thinks.Sherlock is eating, of all things, ice cream. This seems to be occupying all of his attention: he doesn’t move a muscle to help John with the groceries. Then again, John thinks, this is not at all unusual.They’re post-case. This one went on so long that John forgot to stock the small amount of useable space in the fridge with things that are actually edible. Thus, all that was available for Sherlock’s post-case binge was a carton of old mint chocolate chip ice cream. It didn’t stand a chance.Sherlock twists about to place the mug on the end table, on top of a worn copy of Henry V. A telltale drop of light green ice cream drips onto his exposed chest. He should by all means look ridiculous draped in yellow and black striped fleece, dripping ice cream all over himself. He doesn’t, though.
