visitbuckspa-blog:PEARL S. BUCK HOUSE Pearl S. Buck was a humanitarian and best known for her incredible talent in literature. Born in 1892, Pearl became the first woman to ever win a Nobel Prize in literature. Living most of her life in China and New York, she moved to Green Hills Farm in Bucks County with her family in 1934. The farmhouse, now on the Registry of Historic Buildings, welcomes visitors to learn about the incredible accomplishments and legend of Pearl S. Buck. Residing on 68 acres of land, the farmhouse is used today as the headquarters to the Pearl S. Buck Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of children’s lives that have been denied educational, social, economic, and civil rights. The main house is open to the public and serves as a museum, housing some of Pearl’s greatest possessions and accomplishments. During your visit, meander through their culture center, extensive international gift shop and view their special exhibits such as "The Silver Screen at Green Hills Farm" exhibit currently on display. Hosting a special event? The farm is a beautiful venue to host meetings, weddings and social affairs. To find out more information about the Pearl S.
