Hey guys! Back from a month-long absence. If you’ve wondered whether I quit, hell no! Of course not :D In fact, I’ve been quite busy!The above render is one I decided to render out for this post 1) because I never post without a render to go with it, but also because 2) it’s a render I am particular proud of. After two years of working with iray and daz studio, I think I’ve come out at a production level that’s, quite honestly, as much as I can make Daz Studio do.I’ve kinda plateau’d, but at the same time I really do enjoying make renders like the above one. I want to animate, but I don’t want to animate if what I make looks worse than what I’m already rendering. If that makes sense? But since animation is of course inevitable, I have only one course of action to take: to make something that looks as good as what I already make.So since the release of The Urge To Explore, I’ve been working on Maya, Redshift, and animation-related things. I’ve been following tutorials like a madman, and am receiving amazing assistance from the folks at A3D. Does that mean that I have a specific project to announce? No, it doesn’t. There are a few more steps I have to take before I’m comfortable even beginning work on my first animated release.Among them are things like creating dynamic hair, figuring out simulated fluids, ie all the stuff that adds erotic value to scenes.So I’m probably going to be releasing one or two more Daz Studio sets before my first animation is out. Maybe even more than that. But in the meanwhile I will also keep you posted on my progress as a developing animator so you know that I’m not dicking about. In particular, what I hope to be sharing soon are some renders created in the Redshift render engine, since I will be leaving Iray behind when I fully transition into Maya.So no promise of any specific project, only the promise that transitioning into animation is currently a fulltime undertaking. Before christmas, I want to make sure that I have the skillset I need in order to do what you’ve all been very patiently waiting for. -- source link
