broe-dameron:broe-dameron:Team Cap ➤ The Raft➤➤➤ Why does Sam stand out in this scene? Is it possible that Sam is the only one in this group that hasn’t been locked up before? Maybe growing up in Harlem he had close calls (ignoring 616 Snap history) but he went from being a vet who jumped back into action to help save the world to being an international fugitive. Now he’s in an underwater cell built to hold the world’s most dangerous super-humans/super-somethings. And at this point in the movie he at least knows Rhodey is alive but he probably won’t be able to talk to him or visit and he might regret that they weren’t on good terms recently. That would be especially hard because besides Steve he’s probably the guy Sam could talk and relate to as far as military (USAF) related PTSD and experiences, which he has just recently relived but this time with Rhodey. Maybe more importantly, he knows he won’t be able to see or talk to his family any time soon either. Everyone else is getting “comfortable” but Sam can’t sit down because he’s waiting for Steve. He knew Steve was going to get them out, because, come on, he knows there’s no way this was going to get resolved and they’d be released after what happened. So of course Steve will come back and get them out. He promised he’d come back and even though Steve doesn’t know this is where his team ended up (no one expected THIS) Sam has faith he’ll find them. The only other outcome is that Steve doesn’t come back or he’s locked up too because Tony lied and used Sam to get to Steve and Bucky and that would be Sam’s fault.Happy belated Samtember -- source link
