VANS HOUSE PARTIES | BANKSLast night Southern California’s BANKS stunned the House of Vans Chicago with her electric sound and sultry voice. Jillian Rose Banks found music at an early age to cope with her parent’s divorce. As a teenager, the singer-songwriter began writing songs and playing the piano. That experience led her to study psychology at the University of Southern California, earning her bachelor’s degree but continuing to use music as a personal outlet. Things changed in 2013 when she uploaded “Before I Ever Met You” to Soundcloud and the track gained massive attention. Soon after an EP titled Fall Over was officially released and things took off. Fans became hooked on her angelic and vulnerable voice juxtaposed with dark and moody pop. In 2014 her debut album Goddess charted all over the world including the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. On June 11 Banks released the love song “Look What You’re Doing to Me,” featuring Francis and the Lights from her upcoming third studio album, III . The 13-track LP dropped today and will be followed by a world tour. Grab tickets here. Photos: Daniel Boczarski -- source link
