I have a special place in my heart for mermaids, because in my mind even have a mermaid did grow land legs and become part of our world like Ariel, they probably wouldn’t be able to walk, and I love the idea that there is nothing wrong with moving through the world in different ways whether that’s with legs, fins, or a wheelchair! I love this look, but I also want to just put it out there but I did not wake up like this and fashion and beauty are not effortless and it’s time that we talk more about that because pretending that actively engaging in beauty and fashion doesn’t take effort does a disservice to everyone, because it creates the expectation that people owe you being pretty or put together to have the right to exist in the world and they absolutely don’t.
