Clothesrationing was announced on June 1st, 1941. Each adult wasgiven 66 points’ worth of coupons for a year (this yearly allocationdecreased throughout the war). Two coupons were needed for a pair ofstockings; eight coupons for a man’s shirt or pair of trousers;eleven coupons for a dress.
