snarp: turretserenade: puppy-eater: turretserenade: puppy-eater: turretserenade: Everything else aside, that has got to be frustrating as hell. I feel as though this image portrays things the wrong way. It seems to imply that Kankri is the post-scratch version of the Sufferer, rather than the opposite, which is true. With his unique powers as a Seer, he can remember across sessions. Meaning the Sufferer remembers being Kankri, not the reverse. Kanrki existed first. It’s still really great art, it’s just misleading. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but to my understanding Kankri wouldn’t need to “remember” per se, because he found out about the Sufferer in the Dreambubbles. I can’t quite recall the specifics of the channels through which they learned of him, but they definitely know what he did and what he taught at least. A valid point though. :D He did learn of the Sufferer and his other life through Karkat. However, we all know he wasn’t exactly listening properly. I do think, given time to muse his other life, he may experience something similar to what this image evokes. It’s a really good piece of art. You know I actually went back and read the transcripts because I was curious about where the info on the dancestor’s post-scratch iterations came from, and while that search was inconclusive, I do remember that Kankri did actually have quite a bit to say on the subject of the Sufferer. It was the part where he eventually ended up talking in huge illegible word blocks. So he did listen pretty well, if only to cherry pick out all the bits he found problematic. Hahaha. Regardless, thank you, because you think it’s good and also for the feedback! Aranea said in her first appearance that she’d been keeping an eye on Alternia, and I assume the others were, too. Not a lot to do in the afterlife! So Kankri probably watched everything go down while clutched in the throes of raw envy and studiously cultivated disapproval. (Which is to say that this image is awesome.) Oh, I forgot she mentioned that there. Though what I was curious about was more so the specific mechanic by which they watched. I mean, I don’t imagine they were crowded around a TV, fighting over the remote and whose iteration the were going to watch for the next couple hundred years or something. I’d venture it was either a facet of someone’s powers or a more obscure function of the dreambubbles, but I’ve yet to find anything solid either way. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just never expounded on though, Hussie does that sometimes. Also the mental image you just gave me of Kankri is beautiful and I thank you for that. -- source link
