itspilipalea:WHY GATEKEEPING DESIGNS AND STYLES IN THE RPC IS ELITIST.part one. this is not a callout post. this is an awareness post. You might be thinking, “Do people really believe that they own shapes in the RPC?”. The answer is yes, my friend. I hope to put an end to this bizarre trend of behind-the-scenes pettiness. As a graphic designer, I am aware of my rights when it comes to content design. I license my textures and fonts. Despite my best efforts, I have fallen into the trend of using pinterest images for my templates. For roleplays and ect, we cannot lie about using unsourced images. When it comes to addressing problems in the roleplay community, we can hold each other accountable. Gatekeeping graphics in the rpc is elitist period. What is gatekeeping? the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something. Not everyone is able to afford resources ( my license costs over 40$ usd every month ) and when content creators make premium graphics and claim to hold ownership to certain shapes, borders and trends they begin to keep resources for themselves. You can’t possibly claim ownership to anything that can be found on pinterest, graphic blogs and ect. You are allowed to remix and restyle trends.graphic designers DO NOT OWN SHAPES, BORDERS, TRENDS AND ECT. a few of these following trends have been used in paid resources and have not credited original makers. Keep yourself educated in what you can claim you own and ect. Some examples:STARRY ARCH SHAPE ( POPULAR SINCE 2021 ) can be found on pinterest. examples:xxxDOUBLE OR TRIPLE ANGLED CIRCLES ( POPULAR SINCE 2021 ) can be found on pinterest. examples:xx -- source link
