A popular parenting magazine, American Baby, employs culturally biased authors who are dishonest with their readers about the harms of male genital mutilation (circumcision). Anesthetized or not, babies go into shock, scream vigorously, tremble, and occasionally become mildly cyanotic from prolonged crying. There have also been reports of infants bursting lungs from screaming or breaking arms from thrashing in pain.
