mindsendelf:starscheme: wintermoonqueen: forsakenoathkeeper: if u dont acknowledge the fanfics u read, the writer won’t think anyone is actually taking the time to read their stuff, which makes our effort feel wasted and our passions feel worthless Tell. The. Fanfic. Writers. How. You. Feel. I will always reblog this. It’s important. NOTHING kills motivation for someone to share their work more than sending it out and meeting only silence. When I was a kid, I used to write fanfiction that I kept only to myself and wrote novels worth (… I wrote “this is a Sci-fi simulations involving characters from Multiple different universes, fandom and original, in my Oregon Trial 2 journals as if this was some sort of training simulation for these characters I wanted to interact, using things that happened in game as plot points to write around.) and was motivated to continue to do so without any sort of interaction because it was just for me and would pick it up whenever I wanted to play a new simulation and have characters interact. HOWEVER when posting fanfiction for others to consume: the more people interacted, the more motivated I was to continue and eagerly worked, but after a few chapters of no feed back and my beta readers not reading anymore, I just…. Lost the drive. Talking to yourself doesn’t feel bad if you know you’re alone. Talking to a crowd of people and being ignored?
