art-of-swords: Cup-Hilt Rapier Dated: 17th century (probably with an older blade) Culture: Spanish Measurements: overall length 112 cm; blade length 92 cm This is a ‘taza’ rapier, ‘taza’ meaning 'bowl’ or 'cup’ in Spanish, from the Viollet le Duc’s period. The blade features inscriptions, on one side “Justicia 1572”, but this rapier style is circa 1620, on the other side stands “Prudencia”.
